    Cloyster ( Analysis)

Post by MasterJoey on Sat Aug 20, 2011 7:53 pm

Cloyster already had Skill link and Icicle Spear.
And now with gen 5 it even got Shell Smash.
I have faced countless Cloysters and always went like, whut no coverage?
    My set ignores this comepletely.

    Cloyster (M) @ Focus Sash
    Trait: Skill Link
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
    Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
    - Shell Smash
    - Icicle Spear
    - Rock Blast
    - Hidden Power [Ground]
Shell Smash and both mutli attacks are on every set.
But, the hidden power ground makes this set so Scary.
Usually Cloyster gets walled by Steel and Rock types, since it can't hit them hard enough. So Hp ground kills both.
The evs can be played around with a little and a Life Orb can be used instead of the Sash.
Its a great Late game Sweeper and a Very annoying lead.
    Have fun.

careful, theres still alot that can resists this. Watch out for defensivly bulky waters like slowbro and swampert. Running surf over HP ground hits most of the steel types hard enough anyways and gives you STAB. Although hp ground would be useful in hitting stuff like jirachi or metagross who might survive a surf
