    Mamoswine Analysis

Post by Noel on Sat Aug 20, 2011 9:15 pm

    Mamoswine
    " alt="" />

Whats big, bad, and sports two giant tusks? None other than mamowsine. It sports a massive attack and an amazing pair of STABS, ice and ground. It even has good priority with ice shard for some revenge kills. Its ability Snow Cloak works well when used in a hail team and its DW ability, Thick Fat, supplements its bulk.

    color=black]Lead Mamo

    Mamoswine @Focus sash
    Trait: Oblivious
    EVs: 252Atk/252Spe/4HP
    Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpAtk)
    -Earthquake
    -Ice Shard
    -Endeavor
    -Stealth Rock

This Mamoswine is an overall great lead. It provides the team with Stealth rock support from the get go like many effective leads. However, if it is taunted Mamoswine can still pack quite a punch. Its usefulness doesn't end after setting up the rocks. It can function as a revenge killer with ice shard, which is especially useful if your team struggles with gliscor or dragons. Finally it has access to endeavor. With this useful move and focus sash, Mamoswine can remove walls from the game in one shot. Focus sash is quite effective, as Mamoswine is immune to both damaging weathers.

    Offensive Mamo

    Mamoswine @Life Orb/Choice Band
    Trait: Thick Fat
    EVs: 252Atk/252Spe/4HP
    Nature: Jolly (+Spe, -SpAtk)
    -Earthquake
    -Ice Shard
    -Icicle Crash
    -Stone Edge

This Mamoswine can punch holes in unprepared teams. Ground ice rock has near perfect coverage, only resisted by bronzong. Life Orb boosts the attacks while keeping this amazing coverage. Using a choice band limits this coverage, however it boosts Mamoswines attack to a staggering 538. Mamoswine will put a huge dent in anything that doesn't resist its STAB attacks. As a side note, Mamoswine also has access to Superpower, but cannot use it in tandem with Thick Fat.

    MAMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Awesome, I love Mamoswine and now I can even use it as a lead.
But wouldnt Snow Cloak be better in the lead set, hail is seen sometimes in UU..
Further moving on, the all out attacking set is perfect in OU with Gliscor running around like a ... well you get the point
    Points to you Noel:D

yeah, snow cloak would probably be better. Either way, the main point is that it can't run Thick Fat. This Mamo is great in OU too. If theres no hazard you can take out stuff like ferro and chancey with ease

Shame that you cant use Thick Fat.
killing ferro and Chansey(who is used more then Blissey...) with easy is always a good point.
    :D
